  21. your Amiga or there is something wrong with your flow control settings or
  22. modem cable.

  27. No, this must be a coincidence :). The checksum errors are caused by your
  28. serial device, cable, modem, or provider, not from ppp.device.

  35. 1.38, 1.39 and 1.40 are all BETA versions. The next official, public release
  36. version will be ready in a day or two. The bug you describe occurs in
  37. 1.38beta and 1.39beta only and is fixed in 1.40beta.

  45. In this case the problem is most definitely with your Amiga, and it is not
  46. just the checksums that are incorrect, but you are losing characters on the
  47. line.

  49. To everyone having problems with checksum errors:
  50.  
  51.  - set the baud rate to a rather low value (try 38400).
  52.  
  53.  - add 7WIRE to your ppp configuration
  54.  
  55.  - switch hardware flow control (RTS/CTS) *on* in your modem, but
  56.    software flow control (Xon/Xoff) *off*. For most Rockwell-based modems
  57.    (like Supra) this is "AT&K3\G0". For USR Courier it is "AT&H1&I0&R2".
